While situated in an urban context, this residence manages a cozy and ethereal atmosphere.Close attention was paid to every detail in this unique home to craft an everyday experience of whimsy, function, and comfort.
Discrete volumes are stacked and intersected . The interior is shaped to achieve a different dramatic effect in the different spaces using a combination of skylights, cove lighting, and arched ceilings.
Large windows are thoughtfully placed to prioritize view, privacy, and daylight.
Mix's design incorporated our vision for the project along with clever, functional and creative ideas. The team worked closely with our builder to solve all of the many problems that come with bringing a 180-year-old house into the 21st century. We'll be enjoying the results for years to come.
